A man who eluded authorities for three days after escaping from a Fairfield county work camp is back in police custody.
The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office says 31-year-old Jeremiah Searles and two other people were arrested near Jeffersonville late Wednesday.
Searles was being held on several local charges and a deviant sexual assault charge from Missouri before he climbed a razor wire-covered fence at the Southeastern Correctional Institution outside Lancaster.
Authorities say they’re looking into whether a man charged with sexual assault should have been at the minimum-security facility.
