Columbus Police say they have no suspects in the killing of a man whose body was found in trash dumped from a garbage truck.

Columbus police initially thought the death of 45-year-old Dean Reinhard most likely was an accident. Investigators had said Reinhard may have been in a trash container escaping from the cold or looking for cardboard when the bin was lifted and emptied into the truck’s compactor.

But Franklin County Coroner Dr. Jan Gorniak ruled Sunday that the death was a homicide. Gorniak told news outlets on Monday that Reinhard was strangled.

The body was discovered at a disposal company’s transfer station on Wednesday

Police say they found Reinhard’s car, a 2000 gray four-door Saturn.
